Finding a Way Through Pedophilia with Jesus

Are we delusional for believing that pedophilia does not define us? Some would say yes, but the Bible (and Puddleglum) tell a different story.
I used to believe that unwanted same-sex attraction made it impossible for me to have friendships. That changed when I learned to surrender to God.
Regardless of whether pedophilia is nature, nurture, or a complex mix of the two, God’s moral standard always applies. Yet we can always choose to follow Christ.
Recently I was talking to a friend about some of the ongoing difficulties my past sins have caused, and how I see myself. He used an interesting term to frame what I was doing: holding on to emotional and spiritual baggage.
The Bible is God’s supernaturally revealed inerrant message to us. Here, I want to give a very broad description of how the Bible is our foundation.
“If anyone causes one of these little ones – those who believe in me – to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea…”
Living with pedophilia usually comes with significant losses; no surprise there. But unlike most other situations of loss, it can be very difficult to communicate to anyone what we’ve lost, and why it matters.
I felt elated when I found this website. The articles explained and bridged the gap between my sexual desires and my relationship with God.
